The building takes shape from the difficult terrain along the railroad and articulates access on different levels.

It contains 14 apartments spread over five floors, gradually revealing close views of Lake Lugano through the long northern terraces. The project is conceived as an assemblage of elements with different lifespans: structure, services and partitions, anticipating scenarios into which it might transform over time. The volume produces a range of distinctive typologies. The structure tilts outward to support a projecting element at the top, where the penthouse is located, changing the perception of the frame and the surrounding landscape.

Facade Fw 50 Mullions and transoms

High-performance mullion and transom façade with 50 mm visible width: the basis for a variety of solutions The Schüco FWS 50 façade system is an excellent basic system for horizontal façades and roofs with a high level of flexibility, attractive design solutions and optimized manufacturing and installation processes. The wide range of systems enables solutions for a wide variety of requirements and applications. A transparent fall protection integrated into the profile blends seamlessly and elegantly with the exterior aesthetics of the facade. The fall safety load required for full-height opening units and low parapet heights can be implemented with consistent sight section widths and a continuous profile. The mullion and transom facade, with 50-mm face sections, offers great design freedom with a wide selection of undercover and cover profiles and possible combination with Schüco windows, doors and sliding systems. Optimized system elements allow electrical components to be easily and reliably integrated into Schüco automated doors or sunscreens.
With the mullion and transom facade, Schüco once again fulfills its obligation to create ecologically sustainable products. The Schüco FWS 50.SI (Super Insulated) system has been awarded the silver “Cradle-to-Cradle Certified™” sustainability certification by the independent C2CPII institute, in cooperation with EPEA in Hamburg, for its recyclability and low pollutant content.

Facade FW50 SG

All-glass mullion and transom facade with high thermal insulation for a variety of solutions.

Timeless aesthetics combined with maximum functionality – the Schüco FWS 50 SG.SI (Structural Glazing Super Insulated) façade system enables the construction of large, all-glass façades that meet the highest thermal insulation requirements at the passive house level. The system is based on an innovative insulating system, infills and triple insulating glass that provide low transmittance values. This involves triple insulating glass. The system, with a visible section width of 50 mm, can be designed with coplanar all-glass aesthetics or with semi-structural glazing. Further design freedom is allowed by the full range of covers: a horizontal or vertical cover on the facade can create interesting architectural variations. Compatibility with the Schüco AWS 114 window system provides additional functionality and user comfort: manually or mechatronically operated insertion elements, with outward-opening or parallel-opening projecting windows, can be integrated into the all-glass facade with a homogeneous aesthetic, even for large-format solutions.

Alucubond ventilated facades

ALUCOBOND is a composite panel obtained by a continuous manufacturing process that allows it to be cut to size.
It consists of two sheets of PERALUMAN aluminum alloy – 100 (Al Mg 1 ) 0.5 mm/cad. thick coupled with an extruded black polyethylene core for a total thickness of 6 mm.
The treatment of the exposed face will be carried out by oven pre-painting in two layers based on PVDF (Kynar) resins, thickness 30 microns, applied by “coil-coating” procedure in accordance with E.C.C.A. (European Coil Coating Association) regulations.

Door and wall construction for multifunctional fire and smoke protection applications

he proven Schüco ADS 80 FR 30 (Fire Resistant) door system with a construction depth of 80 mm, based on highly stable 5-chamber hollow profiles, features remarkable versatility in application, function and design.
With the availability of additional accessories, the aluminum fire and smoke protection system enables the creation of multifunctional doors tailored to additional security and building automation requirements. The range of applications extends from burglary protection and panic function to optimized sound insulation and fall safety load, indoor and outdoor, through access control with emergency exit control devices integrated into the Schüco Door Control System.
Large-format, full-height, fully glazed solutions and opposing doors offer greater freedom in architectural design. The Schüco ASE 67 PD aluminum panoramic sliding system, characterized by high quality, features a modular design.
